Aug. 10, 1945
3 days of rescue were over. He found that he got used to watching dead bodies piled up and being burned after 3 days. It was in the middle of summer. The hot weather made him drink lots of water. (He might have been exposed to radiation that night which later brought on diabetes.)
"Burned dead bodies were everywhere, and people with splinters of glass stuck to their bodies were looking for their families. Married couples, old people holding their grandchildren, it just looked sad, no words to express it."
"A place for a corpse in front of a department store. An old lady never let her go. The next day, she was cold, holding her grandchild."
"It looked like a school ground. Piles of dead bodies were burning. They looked like seemed children and a teacher. Parents were wailing around the fire."(It might have been an elementary school. Little children's dead bodies were piled up and on the top it looked like their teacher.)
